- Civil Service Reform Act of 1978 (CSRA) - 5 U.S.C. section 2302 Outlining prohibited practices in relations to government employees.
- Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act Provides for equitable and impartial relief operations, without discrimination on the grounds of race, color, religion, nationality, sex, age, or economic status.
- The Equal Credit Opportunity Act From FindLaw. Prohibits creditors from discriminating against credit applicants on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, marital status, age, or because an applicant receives income from a public assistance program.
- Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 - 42 U.S.C. section 2000e et seq. From FindLaw. Title VII prohibits employment discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex and national origin.
- Title VIII of the Civil Rights Act of 1968 (Fair Housing Act) - 42 U.S.C. 3601 et seq. From FindLaw. The Fair Housing Act prohibits discrimination in the sale, rental, and financing of dwellings, and in other housing-related transactions, based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, familial status (including children under the age of 18 living with parents of legal custodians, pregnant women, and people securing custody of children under the age of 18), and handicap (disability).
- U.S. Code Title 42, Chapter 21 -- Civil Rights From FindLaw. Title 42, Chapter 21 of the U.S. Code prohibits discrimination against persons based on age, disability, gender, race, national origin, and religion, and more, in various settings including education, employment, access to businesses and buildings, federal services, and more.
- Voting Rights Act of 1965 From FindLaw. Prohibits the denial or restriction of the right to vote, and forbids discriminatory voting practices nationwide.

- 29 C.F.R Part 1626 From the GPO. Procedures regarding the ADEA.
- 29 C.F.R Part 1627 From the GPO. Regulation outlining records to be made or kept by employers, labor organizations, and employment agencies relating to age.
- Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA) - 29 U.S.C. section 621 et seq. From FindLaw. The ADEA prohibits employment discrimination against persons 40 years of age or older.
Disability
- 29 C.F.R Part 1630 From the GPO. Regulations to implement the equal employment provisions of the ADA.
- 29 C.F.R Part 1640 From the GPO. Procedures for coordinating the investigation of complaints or charges of employment discrimination under the ADA.
- 29 C.F.R Part 1641 From the GPO. Procedures for complaints or charges of employment discrimination based on disability filed against employers holding government contracts or subcontracts.
- Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) - 42 U.S.C. section 12101 et seq. From FindLaw. Prohibits discrimination against a qualified individual with a disability.
- Civil Rights Act of 1991 (CRA) Amends several sections of Title VII and added 42 U.S.C. section 1981 to provide for the recovery of compensatory and punitive damages in cases of intentional violations of Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, and section 501 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
- Individuals with Disabilities Education Act Providing that the rights of students with disabilities are protected, and that all children with disabilities have available to them a free appropriate public education (FAPE).
- Rehabilitation Act of 1973, Section 501 Section 501 prohibits employment discrimination against individuals with disabilities in the federal sector
- Rehabilitation Act of 1973, Section 505 Remedies and attorney's fees for a violation of section 501.
Gender
- 29 C.F.R Part 1604 From the GPO. Guidelines on discrimination based on gender, including employment policies relating to pregnancy and childbirth.
- Equal Pay Act of 1963 - 29 U.S.C. section 206(d) Requires that employers pay all employees equally for equal work, regardless of whether the employees are male or female.
- Family and Medical Leave Act From FindLaw. Gives employees the right to take time off from work in order to care for a newborn (or recently adopted) child, or to look after an ill family member.
- Pregnancy Discrimination Act From the EEOC. An amendment to Title VII setting forth that discrimination on the basis of pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions constitutes unlawful sex discrimination under Title VII, which covers employers with 15 or more employees, including state and local governments.
- Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 From FindLaw. Prohibits sex discrimination in education programs that receive federal funds, to increase educational and athletic opportunities for females in schools and colleges nationwide.

- Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 - 42 U.S.C. section 2000d et seq. Title VI prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, or national origin in programs and activities receiving federal financial assistance.
Religion
- 29 C.F.R. Part 1605 From the GPO. Guidelines on discrimination based on religion.
- Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act (RLUIPA) From FindLaw. Protects individuals, houses of worship, and other religious institutions from discrimination in zoning and landmarking laws; also protects the religious exercise of inmates and other persons confined to certain institutions.
