Twenty-three states and Washington<\/span>, D.C., allow same-day voter registration<\/span>, meaning you can register to vote and cast your ballot on Election Day<\/span> without registering in advance. If you live in one of these states and haven’t registered yet, you can still vote by bringing the required identification and proof of residence<\/span> to your polling place<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n\n\n\n

Same-day voter registration<\/span> (also called Election Day<\/span> registration<\/span>) allows eligible voters<\/span> to register and vote on the same day. This means you don’t have to meet advance registration deadlines to participate in the election.<\/p>\n
