An "own recognizance" release would allow you to get out of jail without bail or bond. Yet, the court may set rules you’d need to follow until your criminal trial ends. <\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n\n

After a criminal suspect completes the arrest and booking procedure, the next step is to request a pretrial release. One option is for the court to release you on your own recognizance (also known as ROR or OR). No bail amount is paid to the court, and no bond is posted<\/a>. After arraignment<\/a>, the suspect makes a written promise to attend all future court appearances.<\/p>\r\n
