At a minimum, the agreement should limit your costs to what you would have paid in court filing fees.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Do not give up any of your remedies:<\/strong> Because your employer wants all disputes settled in arbitration, ensure you are not limited to only normal <span data-term-id=\"56968294\">arbitration awards<\/span>. Make sure you can still seek damages for emotional distress and punitive damages.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Do not give up your right to an attorney:<\/strong> If this were a <span data-term-id=\"56968313\">court case<\/span>, you would have been able to hire an attorney to represent you. Ensure that you can still have an attorney represent you in arbitration and that the employer will pay your attorney&#8217;s fees if you win.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>When in doubt, consider consulting with <a href=\"https:\/\/lawyers.findlaw.com\/employment-law-employee\/?fli=dcta\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">an employment attorney<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>What if I Already Signed?
