Also known as <span data-term-id=\"51435242\">boundary fences<\/span>, <span data-term-id=\"51435244\">division fences<\/span> are built <a href=\"https:\/\/www.findlaw.com\/realestate\/neighbors\/fencing-on-property-line-who-pays-for-and-maintains-it.html\">on the <span data-term-id=\"51435266\">boundary line<\/span> <\/a>between two properties for the mutual benefit of both <span data-term-id=\"51435240\">adjoining properties<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>Neighbors who share a <span data-term-id=\"51435244\">division fence<\/span> must split the cost and maintenance in <span data-term-id=\"51435265\">just proportion<\/span>, meaning each pays a fair share. Once you buy a home in the community, they are legally enforceable.<\/p>\n<h2>Neighbor Disputes<\/h2>\n<p>While most of us try to maintain <span data-term-id=\"51435252\">good neighbor<\/span> relations, conflicts sometimes arise. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.findlaw.com\/realestate\/neighbors\/neighbor-fence-disputes.html\">Neighbor fence disputes <\/a>tend to fall into three major categories: boundary and placement disputes; side\u2011of\u2011the\u2011fence issues; and aesthetic or nuisance complaints.
