Legal Aid of Nebraska, the largest and most diverse legal aid organization serving Omaha, offers legal help in many practice areas. Other organizations focus on only a few areas of law.<\/p>\n

    Legal Aid of Nebraska offers legal help to low-income residents all over the state. The organization has offices in nine cities and holds office hours each month on Native American reservations throughout the state. Legal Aid offers services for a broad range of legal issues<\/a>, including family, consumer, housing, public benefits, health, employment and estate planning.     The Civil Law Clinic takes some civil cases (non-criminal cases) of Douglas County residents who meet certain income criteria. Certified Creighton University law students conduct phone interviews with eligible clients and pass the information on to the Clinic Supervisor, who reviews the case information and sends written notice of whether the clinic will accept the case. The clinic accepts mainly landlord\/tenant cases and family law cases, including divorce and child custody disputes, but may take other types of civil cases as well.<\/p>\n

    The Self Help Center is a free, walk-in legal information and resource center for low-income persons representing themselves in court.
