Whether your job is in Omaha or Scottsbluff, every Nebraskan employee is at risk for work-related injuries and illnesses.<\/p>\r\n<p>Nebraska employers must carry <a href=\"https:\/\/www.findlaw.com\/injury\/workers-compensation\/workers-comp-benefits-explained.html\" target=\"_blank\">workers&#8217; compensation insurance<\/a>, which provides wage replacement, medical, and rehabilitation benefits to employees who are injured or fall ill because of their work, regardless of fault. Virtually all employees are covered, but there are exceptions, including household domestic servants and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.findlaw.com\/employment\/hiring-process\/being-an-independent-contractor-vs-employee.html\" target=\"_blank\">independent contractors<\/a>. Additionally, the injury must be work-related and not the result of the employee&#8217;s willful negligence.<\/p>\r\n<h2>Hurt on the Job? You should also inform the treating physician that your injury is work-related.
