North Carolina&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.findlaw.com\/criminal\/criminal-charges\/prostitution.html\">prostitution<\/a> laws ban several activities related to sex work.<\/p>\r\n<p>Under North Carolina law, it is unlawful to:<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Engage in sexual acts in exchange for money or something of value<\/li>\r\n<li>Seeking or engaging in sexual contact or sexual conduct with a sex worker for money (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.findlaw.com\/criminal\/criminal-charges\/solicitation.html\">solicitation of prostitution<\/a>)<\/li>\r\n<li>Abetting, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.findlaw.com\/criminal\/criminal-charges\/pimping-and-pandering-laws.html\">pimping<\/a>, or pandering to prostitution<\/li>\r\n<li>Promoting or participating in child prostitution<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p>In 2013, the North Carolina General Assembly <a href=\"https:\/\/nccriminallaw.sog.unc.edu\/nc-prostitution-changes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">repealed the state laws against loitering<\/a> for prostitution.<\/p>\r\n<p>If you&#8217;re facing prostitution charges, you should understand North Carolina&#8217;s sex crime laws.<\/p>\r\n<h2><b>Which Sexual Acts Qualify Under State Prostitution Laws?<\/b><\/h2>\r\n<p>The state doesn&#8217;t have to prove you engaged in vaginal intercourse with a third party to charge you with prostitution.
