Oklahoma City. It’s one of only two capital cities with their state name as part of the city name. The other is Indianapolis, Indiana. It’s a growing metropolitan with over 600,000 people living in the city alone.<\/p>\n

"OKC" is known for many diverse things — the infamous "Land Run<\/a>" of the late 1800\u2019s, a beloved basketball team, The Thunder<\/a>, a National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum<\/a> including the Rodeo Hall of Fame<\/a>, its strong Native American<\/a> presence, the Amateur Softball Association of America<\/a> headquarters, and Historic Route 66<\/a>.<\/p>\n

If you’re an Oklahoman living in Oklahoma County, you know there are several of courthouses in the area. If you have a criminal, civil, probate or family law matter, it’s likely in the District Court.<\/p>\n

Here we’ve highlighted several key court systems you\u2019ll most likely encounter: the Oklahoma Supreme Court<\/a>, the Criminal Court of Appeals<\/a>, the Civil Court of Appeals<\/a>, the Workers’ Compensation Court<\/a>, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma<\/a>, and the U.S Bankruptcy Court<\/a>.<\/p>\n
