Stalking Defined as<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

Wilfully, maliciously, and repeatedly follows or harasses another in a manner that causes person to feel frightened, intimidated, threatened, etc., and actually causes such feelings<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>

Punishment\/Classification<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

Misdemeanor: punishable by maximum 1 year jail sentence and\/or maximum $1,000 fine. If there is a court order, injunction, probation\/parole conditions or preceding violation within 10 years: felony with a maximum fine of $2,500 and 5 year jail sentence<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>

Penalty for Repeat Offense<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

Second act of stalking within 10 years: felony with a maximum fine of $2,500. If stalker commits an act of stalking in violation of \u00a7\u00a7(B) and (C): felony with fine between $2,500 and $10,000<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>

Oklahoma\u2019s stalking statute defines it as repeatedly following or harassing someone until they are frightened, intimidated, or threatened. This can include following a person to work, showing up at a person’s home, making harassing phone calls, and, in some cases, vandalizing<\/a> a person’s property. Many stalking victims were previously romantically involved with their stalkers and have been, or may be, victims of domestic violence<\/a>.
