Providence, it\u2019s the capital of Rhode Island and one of the oldest cities in the United States. The city is notable for many things— the American Revolution<\/a>, Brown University<\/a>, Federal Hill<\/a>, ethnic diversity, spectacular Italian food including Angelo\u2019s Civita Farnese<\/a>, the patriotic song I\u2019m a Yankee Doodle Dandy<\/i>, and, of course, the Mafia.<\/p>\r\n

\u201cThe Renaissance City\u201d boasts a population of over 182,000 residents in 25 neighborhoods and only 20.5 square miles of land.  It\u2019s the third largest city by population in the New England region.<\/p>\r\n

If you are in Rhode Islander with a court case in Providence County, you know there are several courthouses servicing the metropolitan area.  If you have a criminal, civil, family law, probate, or worker\u2019s compensation matter, it\u2019s likely in one of the superior or district courts.              <\/p>\r\n

Here we\u2019ve highlighted several key court systems you\u2019ll most likely encounter: the Rhode Island Superior<\/a>, District<\/a>, Family<\/a> and Worker\u2019s Compensation<\/a> courts, the Rhode Island Supreme Court<\/a>, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Rhode Island, and the U.S. District Court for the District of Rhode Island<\/a>. <\/p>\r\n
