    The County provides a free mediation service to help parties resolve civil disputes in a civil manner. A mediator will listen to each side of the conflict and help think of a possible solution. Participants often save money and suffer through less stress when engaging in mediation as opposed to formal court proceedings. As part of its public service, the State Bar offers referrals to private attorneys who agree to provide a 30-minute consultation for $25 or less.
