OFFICIAL RULES

NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN THIS PRIZE DRAWING. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.

Please read these rules before entering the FindLaw Wireless Earbud Prize Drawing (the “Prize Drawing”). You agree that, by submitting an entry, you will be bound by these Official Rules and you acknowledge that you satisfy all Prize Drawing eligibility requirements.

Eligibility. If you are an individual legal resident of the United States or the District of Columbia and a practicing attorney at a small law firm (1 – 10 attorneys) at the time of entry, you are eligible to enter the Prize Drawing. The Prize Drawing is not open to employees or independent contractors, immediate family members (spouses, domestic partners, parents, grandparents, siblings, children, and grandchildren) or those living in the same household of employees or independent contractors of Thomson Reuters (“Sponsor,” “we,” or “us”) and any entity involved in any aspect of the Prize Drawing, and each of their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, advisors, or advertising/promotion agencies. You do not need to be a current Thomson Reuters customer to enter.

An individual attorney is responsible for reviewing, understanding and abiding by his/her principal’s or employer’s policies regarding eligibility to participate in activities such as the Prize Drawing described in these Official Rules. If you are participating in violation of your principal’s/employer’s policies, you may be disqualified from registering for and/or participating in the Prize Drawing and being awarded/retaining prizes.

Prize Drawing Period. The Prize Drawing begins at 12:00:01 a.m. (CDT) on November 30, 2023 and ends at 11:59:59 p.m. (CDT) on December 12, 2023 (the “Prize Drawing Period”). For the purposes of this Prize Drawing, each day is understood to begin at 12:00:01 a.m. (CDT) and end at 11:59:59 p.m. (CDT).

Prizes. We will award a total of 25 prizes. Each winner will receive one (1) Wireless Earbud after participating in a complimentary marketing consultation with a FindLaw representative. The Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”) of each prize: $169.00. The total ARV of all prizes is $4225.00. Your prize will be shipped to you. Each winner will be responsible for paying all costs and expenses related to the prize that are not specifically mentioned, including, but not limited to, any other expenses that might reasonably be incurred by the winners in receiving or using the prize.

Prize Drawing. 25 potential winners will be selected in a random drawing to be held on or around Wednesday, December 13, 2023 from among all eligible entries received between November 30, 2023 - December 12, 2023. We must receive eligible entries during the Prize Drawing Period for them to be eligible for the drawings. We will notify each potential winner by phone or e-mail within ten (10) business days following the drawing, and potential winners may be required to sign an Eligibility Statement and Publicity Release. We will select an alternative potential winner if any potential winner does not return the requested, completed document(s) within 72 hours of our sending such document(s), or meet the eligibility criteria. The prizes will be awarded “AS IS” and WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, express or implied (including, without limitation, any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose). Limit one (1) prize per person for a total of 25 Prize Drawing winners.

Odds of Winning. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.

Additional Terms. We may, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, and in our sole discretion, change these rules or cancel the Prize Drawing at any time; or modify, terminate, or suspend the Prize Drawing should viruses, worms, bugs, unauthorized human intervention or other causes beyond our control corrupt or impair the administration, security, fairness or proper play of the Prize Drawing or submission of entries. We are not responsible for: (a) lost, misdirected, late, incomplete, or unintelligible entries or for inaccurate entry information, whether caused by you or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Prize Drawing, or by any technical or human error that may occur in the processing of entries; (b) any printing or typographical errors in any materials associated with the Prize Drawing; (c) any error in the operation or transmission, theft, destruction, unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries, or for technical, network, telephone, computer, hardware or software, malfunctions of any kind, or inaccurate transmission of, or failure to receive any entry information on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website; or (d) injury or damage to your or any other computer resulting from downloading any materials in connection with the Prize Drawing. We may, in our sole discretion, disqualify any individual found to be: (x) tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Prize Drawing or website; (y) acting in violation of these rules; or (z) acting in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person. If your entry is incomplete or if you use robotic, automatic, programmed or similar entry methods, your entry will be void. The authorized account subscriber is the natural person who is assigned an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, on-line service provider, or other organization responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domains associated with the submitted e-mail addresses. No greater than the number of prizes stated in these Official Rules will be awarded. If any technical errors occur in the selection of a potential prize winners or if more prizes are claimed than the number of prizes being awarded as provided in these Official Rules, we may award the prize(s) by random drawing from among all eligible claimants.

Miscellaneous. The Prize Drawing is governed by the laws of the United States. The Prize Drawing and all accompanying materials are copyrighted works of Thomson Reuters.  All rights reserved. If you win a prize, you may not transfer, assign, or redeem the prize for cash. We may substitute a prize with a prize of equal or greater value. By accepting the prize, each winner agrees (for himself or herself and his or her heirs) that we, along with our affiliates and agents, will have no liability, and will be held harmless by the winner for any liability, loss, injury or damage to property or person, including death, and reasonable attorney’s fees and court costs, due in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, by reason of the acceptance, possession, use or misuse of the prize or participation in the Prize Drawing, even if caused or contributed to by our negligence. You agree that our decisions related to the Prize Drawing and all drawings are final. Each winner agrees that, by participating in the Prize Drawing, we may use the winner’s name, image or likeness in any manner and in any medium for our promotional purposes without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law. Each winner agrees to sign a publicity release where required.

ANY ATTEMPT BY A CONTESTANT, INDIVIDUAL, OR ORGANIZATION TO DELIBERATELY UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS, AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH INDIVIDUAL OR ORGANIZATION TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. 

Any and all disputes arising out of the Prize Drawings shall be brought within one year of the end of the Prize Drawing Period, notwithstanding any contrary statute of limitations. The laws of the state of Minnesota govern this sweepstakes and any dispute regarding the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of the entrant and Sponsor in connection with the sweepstakes shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, only in a state or federal court located in Minneapolis, MN.

Winners’ List. After we confirm the winners, we will contact the winners within 10 business days to notify them of their prize.
