Jaleel White Accused of Domestic Violence, No Charges

By Jason Beahm on October 12, 2010 | Last updated on March 21, 2019

"Did I do that?"

You know its a sad say when Screech is getting his house foreclosed yet again, and Urkel is accused to slapping around his baby's mama.

Jaleel White, star of '90s sitcom Family Matters, is accused of domestic violence by Bridget Hardy, the mother of his child and former girlfriend. According to Hardy, Jaleel punched her in one of her breast implants while their child was in the car with them. Their fight continued until they made it home, where Jaleel allegedly slapped Hardy and pushed her into a toilet hard enough to break the tank.

Hardy reported the incident to the LAPD, though White will not be charged with domestic battery of Hardy, according to law enforcement sources, TMZ reports. Apparently there was a lack of evidence against Urkel in order for the police to move forward in the case.

According to Jaleel White's attorney, Philip Cohen, the police were skeptical about Hardy's "credibility and timing" as she waited several weeks to report the incident and the two are currently locked into a bitter custody dispute. Here's hoping that they can work it out.

Battery is a legal topic that comes up often here in the land of FindLaw. For your review, battery is the intentional touching of, or application of force to, the body (or connected property) of another person, in a harmful or offensive manner, and without consent. For example, grabbing someone's purse while it is on their shoulder is a form of battery (as well as theft).
