Rapper T.I. Released from Jail ... Again
Rapper T.I. has been released ... again. T.I. is now safely tucked away in an Atlanta halfway house after a technical snafu sent the rapper back to jail the same day he was released in August.
T.I. was initially released from an Arkansas jail on August 31st, the New York Daily News reports.
Prison officials let the Atlanta-based rapper have a few sweet hours of freedom before he was escorted back to prison, according to the Daily News.
Initial reports indicated that T.I. was jailed over the luxury tour bus that showed up at the Arkansas jail to escort the rapper to the Atlanta halfway house.
As it turns out, that wasn't really what was at issue. In reality, prison officials said that T.I. was illegally conducting business aboard the bus - which apparently is a big no-no.
Poor T.I., don't prison officials and law enforcement officers watch entertainment news? T.I. had to do some business on the bus. After all, he's got a VH1 reality show and a book deal lined up post-release!
There's no time to waste when you've got to capitalize on your "Road to Redemption," which is coincidentally the name of the MTV show that aired in 2009 chronicling the rapper's impending sentence over gun charges.
Okay, maybe prison officials weren't persuaded to release T.I. over his pending reality TV deals. T.I.'s attorney, however, is taking some of the credit for the rapper's release, saying that it's partly due to his proactive legal approach that the rapper was sprung so early.
That, and prison officials formally reviewed T.I.'s re-arrest and ultimately decided to reinstate his release, according to the New York Daily News.
What's next, now that T.I.'s released (again)? Well, all his business deals that were placed on hold when he was sent back to prison can likely start up again. Hopefully, T.I.'s Atlanta halfway house doesn't have similar rules that prohibit conducting business - otherwise it'll be a short "Road to Redemption" indeed.
