Kodak Eastman, the iconic American manufacturer of photographic
equipment, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. The move
comes after weeks of speculation and rumor suggesting that the
132-year-old company was broke and considering bankruptcy. The
bankruptcy petition also comes on the heels of a
lawsuit Kodak filed
against Apple and HTC claiming that the two companies' smartphones
infringed on Kodak's patents for transmitting images over cell networks.
