Block on Trump's Asylum Ban Upheld by Supreme Court
With bar prep starting around the country, test takers are no doubt being bombarded with advice every which way they turn. Even first-time test takers share advice with each other like they know what they're talking about.
However, when it comes right down to it, there is some sage-like advice that nearly everyone can agree shouldn't be ignored, and some of it is collected below.
You have your own learning style, your own habits, your own idiosyncrasies. Not all the advice you hear is going to be right for you. For example, if you made it through law school happily breakfasting on cake and coffee, switching to oatmeal and coffee for the bar exam to be "healthier" might not actually be good for you if you live to eat. Yes, processed sugar is bad, but so is a breakfast that makes you wish you were still in bed and takes you ten minutes longer to eat.
Falling behind during bar prep is scary. You can basically go through a semester's worth of subjects in less than week, and missing a day can wreak havoc on your entire schedule. But don't ever lose hope if you fall behind. You can catch up. The important thing to do if you fall behind is to stay calm, plan to catch up, and then do it. It's simple, but time consuming.
Sleeping is integral to learning. If you're going to be studying hard, you should also be sleeping well.
If you're taking a bar prep course, do your best to follow their direction. While everyone learns a little bit differently, most bar prep courses tend to provide multiple formats for engaging with the materials. Just because one format may benefit you more than others, that doesn't mean you should ignore those (though there's nothing wrong on focusing more time on activities that benefit you more).
