New York Man Sues Boss: Her 'Voice Made Me Vomit'

By Jason Beahm on February 17, 2011 | Last updated on March 21, 2019

Here's a lawsuit that probably isn't going to make it very far.

Anthony Dingle, the New York Housing Authority Superintendent, sued his boss claiming that her voice made him vomit. Anthony Dingle, said that his boss, Demetrice Gadson, constantly dressed him down, and "every time I heard her voice, it triggered a sickening feeling in me," reports the New York Post.

Dingle claimed that he had to go to a doctor in order to "get his intestinal system properly functioning." But did Gadson even know about the impact she was having upon Dingle? According to Dingle, Demetrice Gadson thoroughly enjoyed the suffering, one allegedly saying, "I did not know that I made men throw up" followed by a fit of hysterical laughing.

All kidding aside, the actual lawsuit comes down to allegations of verbal abuse due to whistle blowing. Dingle alleges that he informed Gadson's superiors of her poor management techniques which led to his abuse. He says the abuse caused him to seek help from a therapist, the New York Post reports.

As we have discussed before, employees that are fired for whistleblowing can file a wrongful termination claim against their former employer. If successful, they are entitled to recover lost wages, back pay and other damages.

Dingle also filed a similar federal suit against both the New York Housing
Authority and Gadson last year.
