Ohio Man Had Sex with Inflatable Raft in Alley, Cops Say

By Cynthia Hsu, Esq. on September 06, 2011 | Last updated on March 21, 2019

A man who had sex with an inflatable raft was arrested at his home in Hamilton, Ohio. Edwin Charles Tobergta admitted to the indecent acts and said that he has problems, the Journal News reports.

The alleged sexual acts with the raft took place in the alley behind Tobergta's house, according to the Journal News.

Tobergta, 32, was spotted getting frisky with the pink inflatable raft by the raft's owner early Sunday morning.

The swimming pool raft's owner said that it looked like Tobergta was engaging in sexual intercourse with the raft because his pants were around his ankles.

When the owner shouted to stop, Tobergta allegedly took the raft with him, the Journal News reports.

Records show that Tobergta, pictured above, has been arrested in the past on similar charges, CBS News reports.

When officials finally caught up with the raft enthusiast, they booked him on charges of public indecency. He is currently being held on a $20,000 bail, according to The Smoking Gun.

Usually, public indecency laws are meant to stop individuals from engaging in lewd behavior in public. These laws vary from state to state, but generally make it illegal for people to have sex in public.

Tobergta wasn't engaging in sexual intercourse with another person, but he was doing something relatively indecent to the raft.

One can only imagine the reaction of innocent bystanders if they witnessed Tobergta's crime.

Hopefully, this most recent arrest will prompt Tobergta to attend to his mental health. His mother says that he has "mental problems" and that he "always had a fascination for plastic," according to the New York Daily News.
