Gary Courthouses

Last updated: November 15, 2013

It borders Lake Michigan and is only 25 miles from downtown Chicago. It was the childhood home to the Jackson 5 and memorialized in the Broadway musical “The Music Man.” It was closely linked to the steel industry and is now going through a period of rebuilding and revitalization. Gary is an exciting place with change on its horizon. It is not surprising that legal issues arise during this period of flux. So, whether you have been called to jury service or have a legal matter of your own, here are a few of the courthouses you may encounter when dealing with a legal issue in Gary.

State Courts

  • City Court of Gary

    555 Polk Street
    Gary,
    IN 46402

    Tel: (219) 881-1271

Initially developed as a traffic court, this court has expanded to include criminal and civil divisions. For further information including a list of court costs and fines, a copy of the Gary Municipal Code, and more, refer to the Office of the Gary City Clerk.

    IN 46320

If you are summoned to jury duty in this court, you may wish to refer to these Frequently Asked Questions and Juror Basics.
