    The Trenton Municipal Court has 27 sessions that handle 12 kinds of legal issues: arraignments, housing, traffic, parking, DWI, special sessions, motions, citizen complaints, citizen trials, criminal (generally misdemeanors), city ordinance violations, and truancy.

    The civil courthouse hears all civil cases, including small claims, arising in Trenton and surrounding areas of Mercer County. The Mercer County General Equity and Probate Courts, as well as the Family Court, are also located here.

    The criminal courthouse hears all criminal cases for indictable-level offenses. The City of Trenton Municipal Court hears cases for less serious criminal offenses. The Central Intake Unit and Adult Drug Court Program is also located here.
