Thanks to its gorgeous weather, golf courses, beaches, and attractions like the Carolina Opry and Boardwalk, Myrtle Beach is a top tourist destination. In addition, this Horry County city is home to nearly 30,000 residents and a number of colleges, as well. With all of the activity, legal issues are bound to arise from time to time. And when they do,a trip to the courthouse may be necessary.

  • City of Myrtle Beach Municipal Court

    This court is “responsible for adjudicating criminal misdemeanor offenses involving city ordinances and state statutes. This includes traffic offenses and property crimes involving $1,000 or less.” The court holds bench trials Monday through Thursday and bond hearings 7 days a week. Jury trials are held one week out of each month.   • Horry County Probate Court

    This court has locations in Myrtle Beach (address above), as well as Little River (107 Hwy 57 North) and Conway (1301 Second Avenue). The probate court has original jurisdiction over actions involving the issuance of marriage licenses, deceased individuals' estates, wills, trusts, estates of minors or incapacitated individuals, and involuntary commitments. Most matters are handled without jury trials.

    This court has two locations – one in Myrtle Beach proper (above) and one in Conway at 1301 Second Avenue ((843) 915-5080). If you are called for jury service here expect to be paid $15 per day and to serve for one week. To access court forms check out this section of the website.
