This organization, abbreviated "LSLA," regularly takes on family law, housing, public education, government benefits, employment, and other types of cases. The Houston Lawyer Referral Service

HLRS takes its name from the Houston metro area, but the organization serves Galveston as well. Call the telephone number and they will give you a free referral to a local attorney for a consultation at a reduced price. The referral is free, but the 30 minute inital consultation costs $20, payable to the attorney that helps you.
