It’s the kind of tawdry, messy story that sparks endless speculation on the internet as people watch it unfold. This tale, which appears to be escalating in intensity, features an NFL receiver, a social media influencer, and one of the most popular rappers in the world. As the lawsuits start to fly, so do the insults and accusations.
At the center of the maelstrom stand National Football League (NFL) wide receiver Stefon Diggs and Christopher Blake Griffith, a stylist and social media influencer. Griffith’s claims of unwanted sexual advances made in 2023 by the NFL star caused Diggs to respond with a defamation lawsuit. Griffith fired back with a counterclaim on November 21, 2025, accusing Stefon Diggs of sexual battery and of masterminding the violent attacks against Griffith made by his brother Darez after the alleged incident.
Diggs, who plays for the New England Patriots and just welcomed the birth of a son with rapper Cardi B, insists that Griffith concocted the entire episode in an attempt to boost his own social media presence. Whether that’s true or not, the ongoing saga will no doubt provide a healthy supply of fodder for TMZ, Page Six, and other gossip outlets.
Someone Is Definitely Getting Flagged for Unsportsmanlike Conduct
This much is agreed on: Griffin and Diggs both attended a charity basketball game in Washington, D.C., on May 21, 2023. Along with other influencers, they went clubbing after the game before heading back to Diggs’ home in Rockville, Maryland. From there, two wildly different accounts of what happened emerge.
Diggs claims that once home, he retired to his bedroom after asking Griffith to leave. This stands in stark contrast to Griffith’s version, which states that he was sexually assaulted by Diggs in the NFL player’s Porsche before they ever went into the house. Griffith claims that Diggs had repeatedly offered him candy during the evening, which he alleged the receiver had laced with drugs. After he finally accepted a piece, Griffith said he soon began suffering from the debilitating effects of the drug as Diggs engaged in sexual advances in the driveway of his house.
Once brought inside the house, Griffith claimed to have fled to a bathroom and locked himself inside for 45 minutes as he tried to shake off the doping. Once he emerged, he alleges that people working for Diggs forced him to learn and repeat a false account of the night’s events before beating him up, robbing him, stripping him, forcing him into a car, and dropping him off at an airport. According to Griffith, that wasn’t the end of it.
A week later, Griffith was assaulted in an elevator at his Los Angeles home by a group of men that included Darez Diggs, Stefon’s brother. Griffith insists that Stefon sent his brother to kill him to keep Diggs’ sexual assault quiet and his “gay/bisexual secrets from being exposed.” Darez Diggs pleaded no contest to felony grand theft of a person, receiving two years’ probation and community service.
Cardi B’s boyfriend said one thing, Chris Blake Griffith said another. It might have stayed nothing more than rumors if Griffith hadn’t decided his story needed to be heard.
Things Have Started Getting UGG-ly
Griffith filed a police report on the alleged incident in October 2024, but it wasn’t until August 2025 that he decided to come out swinging. In addition to posting the report and his claims of sexual battery on his social media accounts to his nearly one million followers, he also tagged the NFL and UGG, the footwear company with which Diggs had recently entered into an endorsement agreement. He even tagged actress Sarah Jessica Parker, who had appeared in an ad with Diggs.
Diggs responded on October 1, 2025, with a defamation suit that claimed Griffith, “a would-be social media influencer,” had made the whole thing up to gain new followers at the expense of Diggs’ reputation and business agreements. Griffith’s counterclaims on November 21 accused Diggs of sexual battery. Both sides are seeking undisclosed damages and attorneys’ fees.
It’s been an active few months for Diggs, who is in the middle of his football season and had a third child earlier this month. In September, a paternity test that was part of a paternity lawsuit determined that he was the father of another woman’s child as well. Fans of the New England Patriots will no doubt be hoping that he can keep his mind on catching passes instead of dueling lawsuits as the NFL playoffs draw closer.
