Garrett reviews and edits articles for FindLaw.com and LawInfo.com. As a practicing lawyer, Garrett counsels insureds including homeowners, commercial property owners, and remediation companies on regulatory, compliance, and property insurance coverage disputes. His insurance practice extends to auto losses, personal injury, and wrongful policy recissions to name a few.
Garrett also represented individuals, corporations, and luxury condominiums in various breach of contract, negligence, construction defect, complex business, and other commercial litigation matters.
Prior to joining the plaintiffs’ bar, Garrett served as litigation counsel defending numerous insurance companies and self-insured corporations including Publix Super Markets, Uber, State Farm, Progressive, and American International Group. Garrett’s practice includes transactions varying from vendor service/supplier agreements, telecommunication contracts, furniture, fixture and equipment, and SaaS agreements.
Garrett received his Juris Doctorate degree from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law, where he graduated cum laude. During law school, Garrett served on the editorial board for the ILSA Journal of International and Comparative Law and received high marks in his Legal Research and Writing course. Garrett is also a proud alumnus of the Florida State University where he obtained his undergraduate degree in Political Science and Criminology, with a minor in Business.
Garrett is licensed to practice law in the state courts of Florida and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. Beyond the law, Garrett is an avid sports fan and, when not watching his Miami Dolphins, Miami Heat, or Seminoles, he spends quality time with his fiancé, their dog, family, and friends.
