HERNDON, Va. - July 10, 2006 - Sage Software announced today the general availability of Sage FAS Canada Fixed Assets, version 2006.1, featuring new Capital Cost Allowance (CCA) tax classes and depreciation methods, a new FAS Canada Asset Inventory solution especially designed for use by Canadian companies, and integration to FAS CIP Accounting for construction-in-progress accounting.

Four new Capital Cost Allowance (CCA) Tax Classes - 43.2, 47, 48, and 49 - that were introduced with the 2005 Canadian federal budget have been added to FAS Canada Asset Accounting. Additionally, four new depreciation methods were added to FAS Canada Asset Accounting.
Also new is the FAS Canada Asset Inventory solution that enables customers to conduct a physical inventory of their fixed assets using a bar code reader and reconcile the inventory with the assets maintained in FAS Canada Asset Accounting, helping to eliminate lost or stolen assets and reduce insurance overpayments.
Sage FAS Canada users can now implement FAS CIP Accounting to track the cost of their construction-in-progress projects, such as assembling multi-component equipment, upgrading machinery, renovating buildings, or just accumulating separate invoices prior to placing a fixed asset in service. Once the projects are complete, they can send the fixed assets created in FAS CIP Accounting directly to FAS Canada Asset Accounting to begin calculating depreciation. With multiple levels of detail tracking and numerous built-in reports, FAS CIP Accounting users can easily manage and report on unlimited projects, including current project status, actual vs. budget variance, and project details.
Sage FAS Canada, version 2006.1, seamlessly integrates with Sage Accpac ERP, and is now available for active Sage FAS Canada SupportPlus customers to download at www.sagefascanada.com/update.
