Suge Knight and Kanye West Arrange Closed Door Meeting
After a six-hour closed door meeting the legal battle remains heated between Hip-hop mogul Marion "Suge" Knight and Grammy Award-winning rapper Kanye West.
The two hip hop heavy weights faced off over an incident at a Miami Beach party hosted by Kanye West in 2005 where an unknown gunman shot Suge Knight in the leg, the Associated Press reports.
The goal of the closed door meeting was to resolve issues surrounding the incident. In addition, Knight said had hoped a face-to-face encounter with West -- and their lawyers -- could settle the matter.
But the closed meeting didn't live up to expectations and now Knight's lawsuit is being handled in Miami federal court.
As previously discussed, Knight, founder of Death Row Records filed against Miami's trendy Shore Club and West for failing to provide security necessary to keep out people with weapons.
Knight was shot in the leg in August 2005 at the Shore Club where West was hosting a party before the MTV Music Awards held that year in Miami.
According to the negligence lawsuit Knight had $200,000 in medical bills from a gunshot that shattered his femur and is seeking total damages of more than $1 million.
Because of the well known feud and between East and West coast rappers the club should have known it could have triggered violence and produced a "dangerous environment," Knight claims in his lawsuit.
Although, he insists he wants to resolve the situation amicably.
As previously reported, Knight is reportedly millions of dollars in debt and filed for bankruptcy back in 2006. Since then, the rap boss has remained financially strapped.
