Suge Knight Arrested Over Marijuana in Vegas
Former Death Row Records CEO Suge Knight was arrested in Las Vegas this week. Suge Knight's marijuana possession charge may end up costing him.
After all, he's currently serving a three year unsupervised probation sentence. His probation stemmed from driving with a suspended license.
Officials stopped Knight's Bentley when he made an unsafe lane change, according to The Hollywood Reporter. After they pulled him over they ran his name. That's when they discovered the music mogul had other warrants in his name for traffic violations.
His car ended up getting searched.
This might make you wonder if police can search your car during a routine traffic stop. The short answer is: it depends. If you consent to a search, they can have it. Even if you do not consent, police might still be able to search your car if they have a reasonable suspicion that you are concealing something illegal or dangerous.
It's not clear if Knight consented to the police search. But it is a possibility that they were reasonably suspicious. Suge has some history in Vegas, as we know.
Knight was later taken to a local jail. He was processed and then released.
But his release may not be the end to his legal woes. He may have violated his probation because of his recent arrest. If that's the case, Knight may end up having to pay fines. He may also end up in jail if his violation is deemed severe enough.
There is no word yet if this arrest will lead to more problems for Knight. But The Hollywood Reporter indicates that he is still quite a busy man. He is soon to be the subject of a Showtime documentary chronicling his career.
