Taylor Swift Sued by the DJ Fired for Alleged Backstage Grope

By Ephrat Livni, Esq. | Last updated on

A Denver country music DJ fired for allegedly groping Taylor Swift during a photo session in 2013 is suing the pop super star, saying her false accusations cost him his job on the radio. David Mueller, better known to local radio listeners as Jackson, denies Swift's claim that he lifted her skirt and grabbed her butt backstage while she was taking a picture with his girlfriend.

Mueller's lawsuit alleges that Swift has him confused with one of his co-workers, who actually did grab her and boast about it to Mueller when the two men met up at the concert. Regardless, Swift's complaints got Mueller kicked out of the concert and were passed on to the radio station 98.50 KYGO where he worked. Mueller was fired and banned from Taylor Swift concerts for life.

After twenty years as a radio DJ, Mueller's base salary was $150,000 a year, plus performance bonuses, product endorsement fees, and public appearance fees. According to The Denver Post, Mueller's filings argue that Swift's false claims cost him his job and other opportunities and that the allegation was "nonsense" considering the fact that he was attending the meet and greet with his girlfriend, Swift had security personnel, and the photograph taken of the three shows no evidence of skirt lifting.

In the last two decades, the radio DJ has met many celebrities; all apparently emerged from these experiences unscathed and there were no claims of sexual harassment. Mueller has been photographed with Sheryl Crow, Gwen Stefani, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Heidi Klum, Fergie, Mariah Carey, Beyoncé, Jessica Simpson and Jennifer Lopez, among others.

As for Ms. Swift, she has made no comment on the lawsuit but The Inquisitr reports that "her team" says the photo, which is not public, is "damning."
