'To Catch a Predator's' Chris Hansen Caught on Secret Camera?
Was Chris Hansen cheating? Apparently so, and the evidence includes scenes of reporter Kristyn Caddell and Chris Hansen on video.
Most people recognize Hansen as the guy who surprises pedophiles and men trying to get with underage girls on Dateline NBC's "To Catch a Predator" reports.
In "To Catch a Predator," Hansen surprises the men, who are being secretly recorded by hidden cameras. He then proceeds to interview the men who were just caught red-handed.
Can't you just see all of Hansen's previous "Predator" victims smiling right about now?
Hansen, 52, is married. He also has two kids. Caddell, 30, is a local TV news station reporter, reports the Los Angeles Times.
Cameras were rolling when Hansen and Caddell met up at the Ritz Carlton's Angle restaurant at Manalapan, Florida, reports the Los Angeles Times. There, they had a romantic dinner, after which cameras filmed them driving back to Caddell's apartment where they didn't come back out until 8 a.m. the next morning.
The hidden cameras were rolling on the command of the National Enquirer, who had received a tip that Hansen was having an affair with Caddell ever since he met her at a party in March.
Usually, peeking into someone's private life would be invasion of privacy. Tapping into someone's phone, peeking through their window, or setting up an audio recorder in someone's house are all examples of invasion of privacy.
But, when you're taking pictures of someone in public, there's a much smaller chance that a court will judge this as an invasion of privacy. Being in public by itself goes against the notion of privacy, and the National Enquirer sting operation only seemed to have recorded Hansen out in public. If they had ventured too close, or took pictures of the two inside Caddell's apartment, it becomes a more cut and dry case of invasion of privacy.
And to some, the Chris Hansen video showing Chris Hansen and Kristyn Caddell eating dinner and going back to her apartment may not be definitive proof of them having an affair in the first place. Maybe they were just playing a game of Scrabble.
