'Weinergate' Porn Star Ginger Lee Coached to Lie by Rep. Weiner?
Rep. Anthony Weiner's online antics keep unraveling. Indeed, a "Weinergate" porn star, Ginger Lee, might have received some coaching by the Democratic congressman on how to lie on his behalf.
Lee made a blip on the media's radar when she tweeted that she had received a private message from Weiner on March 13, reports The Daily Caller.
When contacted by the media, Lee declined to answer questions about what was sent in the private message, and whether or not Weiner had tried to send her photos. However, apparently some of Weiner's messages to Lee were him coaching her on how to lie to the press, reports TMZ.
"Do you need to talk to a professional PR type person to give u advice? I can have someone on my team call," Weiner reportedly wrote in an e-mail, as reported by gossip website TMZ.
On June 1, Weiner even sent Lee a proposed "statement" that she could give to the press, denying that they ever had explicit e-mail conversations, and that she was simply following Weiner because she was a fan of his politics. Weiner's proposed statement also explained away the March 13th private message as simply "thanking" Lee for following his Twitter feed, reports TMZ. He then threw in that she could maybe use her Southern charm by throwing in some "y'alls" into the statement.
Oh Weiner, you're just making Weinergate all the worse.
Rep. Weiner could now be facing some serious trouble if these e-mails and conversations turn out to be legitimate. After all, he offered Lee the help of his "team." Which team? His Congressional team? If so, he would have been using government employees to cover up his own personal fiasco.
So, the ball may be in Congress' court. Was Weiner's offer of help actually an offer to use federal employees a violation of House ethics? Did he break any laws? Will he face any repercussions besides the public humiliation?
Only time will tell. And, Weinergate porn star Ginger Lee's communications with Weiner seems only to have added fuel to the media fire surrounding his scandal.
