NRA members receive all sorts of perks and benefits including the exclusive right to purchase insurance for killing someone.

That's right, for $165, you will insure yourself if you kill someone in a perceived act of self defense. So what exactly do you get for your money?

The NRA-endorsed insurance covers up to $100,000 in legal fees related to a self defense claim after killing someone, reports the New Times Broward-Palm Beach. This policy will go hand-in-hand with the stand your ground laws that the NRA has pushed in many states.

Thanks to the NRA, stand your ground laws have become increasingly liberal. Previously, someone could use deadly force in self defense in their own home only. Now, groups like the NRA have pushed for more extreme stand your ground laws that would allow deadly force in other areas like your car and areas in the public. In fact, in Florida, someone can use deadly force whenever they "reasonably believe" that deadly force is necessary to prevent death. So it doesn't matter where you are.

What does reasonable belief mean? Well, that's a difficult legal question. Fortunately for members of the NRA who purchase the insurance, they can now afford to shoot and ask questions later.

The NRA has an agenda that increases shootings. Pushing stand your ground laws, more people will shoot in perceived acts of self defense. Pushing stand your ground insurance, more people will shoot and worry about the self defense part later.
