Wendy's Restaurant Robber Phones In to Complain
Times are still tough, and don't you doubt it for a moment. Case in point, one Wendy's restaurant is simply not making enough dough: not for their buns, for their thieves. A Wendy's in Atlanta is now the focus of complaints from the man who robbed it at gunpoint late in the evening of August 31.
The Associated Press reports that the disgruntled robber walked up to the drive-through window last Saturday night and proceeded to rob the cashier. Wearing a ski mask and gloves, the thief waived his gun, demanded the cash drawer, and disappeared into the night with it - on foot.
This burger burglar may need a better victim, however, if he is going to eventually steal enough cash to purchase the necessary getaway vehicle. The take from Saturday's escapade was only $586 in cash.
Now our down and out criminal is breaking new ground. Not only has he committed armed robbery, but he is looking at charges of making threats and possibly extortion as well. Because not only did he get away with a measly amount of loot from his crime, but he was so upset about the lack of cash, he called the restaurant to complain about it - twice.
Police have told the AP that the robber instructed the restaurant "next time there better be more than $586." He made a "similar threat" during the second call. Making this type of phone call will not only get you no more money from the nice people at Wendy's restaurant, it could get you extra jail time for making threats. And that won't get him a getaway car either.
