Block on Trump's Asylum Ban Upheld by Supreme Court
We've talked a lot about the importance of local-mobile searches, but here's the two-sentence recap: Searches from mobile phones is rising exponentially, and Google prioritizes local business listings on its search results page. Plus, adding a local listing simply makes it easier for people who are looking for you to actually find you, especially since everybody uses their smartphone for navigation.
That latter point is why you may want to sign up for Apple Maps Connect as soon as possible. While adding yourself to Apple's database may be of no use whatsoever in search engine queries, it will help the legions of iPhone users locate your office.
Apple Maps Connect's closest comparison is obviously Google's local listings service, Google My Business. Both are directories, with location, contact information, and hours; both help you get found in navigation apps; and both are free advertising tools for your firm.
Setting up Apple Maps Connect is a simple process, one that Gizmodo ran through in only a few steps (with pictures). Getting your law firm listed should only take a few minutes, so it's definitely worth popping over and filling out your information.
According to Apple, Maps will include customer reviews. With the addition of the directory-like feature, this also seems like a close competitor to Yelp, though the listings live in the Apple Maps app only -- there is no website.
Still, the "reviews" portion gives you yet another reason to make sure your listing is correct -- and to make sure you don't have disgruntled ex-clients posting bad reviews that will show up whenever someone gets directions to your office on an iPhone.
I lack an iPhone or iPad, so I haven't explored Apple Maps Connect just yet. Have you? Tell us about it on Twitter @FindLawLP.
