Holler: Our Favorite Posts From the Blawgosphere (Week of July 13)

By William Peacock, Esq. on July 18, 2014 | Last updated on March 21, 2019

Sorry folks: no porn or leather this week. Instead, our weekly shout-out to the best law-related things on the Internet is a bit more tame, and some might say pragmatic.

It's office attire. And a guy kicked out of court for his attire, which mocked the judge's ongoing ethics scandal. Plus, law graduates that can't afford attire. And more!

As always, if you have a suggestion for next week's roundup, tweet me @PeacockEsq.

Corporette: The Hunt: Interview Suits

Ah, the interview suit. For men, it's simple: go black, navy, or maybe charcoal and avoid double-breasted. But for women? Y'all got a lot more options. Corporette has a few examples for inspiration.

Just one thing: take a look at the jeans in #5. I mean, I'm no Carrie Bradshaw, but jeans? If you're interviewing in Silicon Valley, sure, that might be okay, but for us lawyerly folks -- uh-uh girl.

ABA Journal: "Do You Even Ethics Bro?" T-Shirt

Hah! Much respect to the guy who wore a t-shirt with a local judge's picture on it, along with the caption, "Do You Even Ethics Bro?" (See the meme.)

He was sporting the likeness of Judge Stephanie Domitrovich, who is facing an ethics investigation over her "unpatient, undignified, and discourteous" treatment of parties in her courtroom. She's also being looked at for having her lawyer husband allegedly help draft her opinions.

What was the excuse used to kick the bro of the courthouse? Check out the ABA's coverage for more.

Above the Law: Calling BS on Law School Employment Gains

Short version: National Jurist calculated increases of employment rates amongst law schools, but gave credit for lesser gigs, like JD-preferred or baristas. Above the Law disagreed with the methodology and did their own calculations.

Who was the biggest winner? And did the methodology tweak make a difference? Check ATL for the results.

That's all for today folks. There's a lot more out there, but I've got to go get a wisdom tooth removed. Happy Friday!
