Amazing and Notorious: RBG Documentary Trailer Released

By George Khoury, Esq. | Last updated on

Did you know that there's a documentary about the Notorious RBG? Unfortunately, you still have to wait over a month before it is released in theaters nationwide on May 4th. Fortunately though, you won't be guessing which movie is about her, as the film is simply titled: RBG.

Those lucky moviegoers that attended this year's Sundance Film Festival were treated to the first run of the film, and the response has been overwhelmingly positive. After all, people sure do love Justice Ginsburg. Even Stephen Colbert has jumped on board the hype-train and released this video of the two of them working out together and having some silly fun.

RBG

On the eve of this year's International Women's Day, the trailer for the RBG movie was released and received much public fanfare.

As you can see in the trailer, the documentary highlights Justice Ginsburg's rise to prominence and cultural icon status. In the documentary, she discusses the issues she faced as a voice for gender equality in a time where that was still a radical notion. But the documentary isn't all about RBG's glitzy and glamorous life litigating and judging, it also goes into her personal life.

Warning: Soft-Spoken Spoiler Alert

The justice shares more about her famous workout, as well as her relationship with her late husband Martin Ginsburg. As one reviewer puts it, the film shows Ginsburg is "neither beast nor badass," but rather an "even-tempered, soft-spoken mediator."

Curiously, the film reveals private details about Ginsburg including the fact that her daughter kept a "mommy laughed" journal detailing those rare instances when RBG actually smiled or laughed. Also, it's revealed that she has a couple family nicknames: Bubby and Kiki.
