Phoenix Municipal Court

Parking: Reduced-rate parking is available at 305 West Washington Street. Park in the garage on the south side of Washington Street and validate your ticket at the information booth in the courthouse.

Note: This court handles limited types of cases that have occurred within the city limits, including traffic violations, some criminal misdemeanor cases, Orders of Protection and Injunctions against Harassment (restraining orders).

Maricopa County Superior Courts in and Near Phoenix

The Superior Courts hear all kinds of cases under the state laws of Arizona, from family law issues, like divorce and custody, to probate issues to criminal issues. Maricopa County has several Superior Court buildings, a few of which are located outside of Phoenix in Surprise and Mesa. Many of the courthouses have Self-Service Centers for people who don’t have attorneys.

Note: This facility has a Self-Service Center. The Northeast Regional Center office of the Clerk of the Superior Court is located in this building in Suite 120. The justice courts for the Desert Ridge, Dreamy Draw, McDowell Mountain, and Moon Valley precincts are also located here.

Southeast Court

Note: This facility has a Self-Service Center. The Mesa office of the Clerk of the Superior Court is located in this building.

Court of Appeals, Division One

Note: The Court of Appeals, Division One, hears cases that have already been decided at the Superior Court level and have been appealed.

Arizona Supreme Court

Note: The Arizona Supreme Court is the highest court in the state and only hears certain cases that have already been appealed to and heard by the Court of Appeals.

The Sandra Day O’Connor U.S. Courthouse

Note: This is a United States District Court. It handles only federal cases. The Clerk of Court is also located here. You may file court papers, obtain court records and attend court hearings at this location.

Phoenix Immigration Court

Note: The EOIR administers the immigration court system in the United States. It hears the cases of immigrants who have been charged with violating U.S. immigration law or who are trying to apply for protection under U.S. immigration law.

Bankruptcy Court

Note: This court handles bankruptcy filings and hearings for the District Bankruptcy Court of Arizona. You can file your bankruptcy forms in this building.
