Franklin County Court House (Records, Civil, and Criminal Divisions)

This court building is also known as the Franklin County Hall of Justice. Courthouse visitors are encouraged to park at the S. Front Street Parking Garage a block away. The garage is on Front St., north of Fulton. If you need a bite to eat, grab something quick in the first floor's cafeteria.

Franklin County Court House Appeals Division

This court is in the Franklin County Government Center. The entrance has three addresses written on it and leads to two different courthouses. Make sure you head to the 373 County Court and not the 375 Municipal Court.

Franklin County Court House (Domestic Relations and Juvenile Divisions)

Also located in the Franklin County Court House, the Domestic Relations Division handles divorce, annulment, dissolution, and legal separation actions. The office also handles the civil protection orders resulting from domestic violence allegations. See the court's information page for answers to further questions.

The Juvenile Division (Tel: (614) 525-4411) handles many types of cases involving minors including: delinquency, abuse, neglect, and custody, and child support. Consequently, there are several other county agencies that may also work on your case. The Juvenile Department's informational page includes links to Protective Services, Franklin County Children Services, and the Child Support Enforcement Agency as well as a brief description of each agency's potential role.

Franklin County Probate Court

This court has authority over: estate administrations, trusts, guardianship cases, mental health proceedings, court-ordered medicine and other related administrative tasks and litigation.

Delaware County Common Pleas Courts

Bring your quarters for the metered parking. If you run out, there's a Chase Bank a block South from the courthouse on Sandusky. There are some spaces on to park on the block, but on a busy day, be prepared to walk a few blocks.

Delaware County Common Pleas Courts

The Juvenile Court oversees cases involving minors, whether civil or criminal in nature, and including child custody and abuse cases. The Probate Division handles cases relating to wills, estates, and guardianships.  It can be reached by phone at: (740) 833-2680.

Delaware Municipal Court

The building is located where E. Central runs into Columbus Pike. See the court's website for juror information, court costs, answers to frequently asked questions, and other pieces of helpful information.

Fairfield County Common Pleas Court

This court has the power to hear every type of case in Fairfield County, except those that must be heard in federal court. The building itself is also known as the "Hall of Justice." The parking along the side of the Hall is limited to 30 minutes. Other options are available and are highlighted on a map provided by the court.

Fairfield County Municipal Court

This municipal court handles all stages of misdemeanor criminal and traffic cases and the beginning phases of felony cases. The court also oversees civil matters with $15,000 or less at issue or when a landlord and tenant are in conflict.

Hocking County Common Pleas Court

The court's website features a page with answers to frequently asked questions. You will find driving directions to court, instructions for obtaining records, and information related to jury service. Park for free on the streets surrounding the courthouse.

Licking County Common Pleas Court

This court has jurisdiction over all felony cases and many types of civil cases. You can't miss the building. It's situated in the town square, and Main Street runs right through it. If you're from elsewhere in the county, park the car in the square and take in some of the many local restaurants and shops. Other departments in this courthouse and their contact numbers are:

Licking County Municipal Court

The municipal court has authority over all traffic cases and criminal misdemeanors in Licking County. The court may also oversee felony cases in the pre-trial phases. On the civil side, this court hears cases with up to $15,000 at issue. Visit the court's website for general driving directions.

Madison County Courthouse

Both the Common Pleas Court and the Municipal Court sit in the Madison County Courthouse. Visitors should have no trouble finding free parking on the street.

Morrow County Courthouse

This facility houses both the Common Pleas Court and Municipal Court. The Municipal Court handles misdemeanor crimes, traffic violations, and smaller civil cases. The Common Pleas Court handles everything else.

Pickaway County Common Pleas Court

The court has multiple divisions including: Civil, Criminal, Probate, and Juvenile Court. Check for unmetered parking on W. Mound Street.

Circleville Municipal Court

This court handles a wide range of civil and criminal cases. In some cases you will have to call the court in order to get answers to specific questions. Here is the list of department phone numbers.

Supreme Court of Ohio

Ohio's Supreme Court is the "court of last resort." It may assert its jurisdiction in a number of ways, but most commonly hears cases that have been appealed from the court of appeals. Visitors may park a block north in the LeVeque Tower Parking Garage. Many of the court's visitors come from all over Ohio. If you're from out of town, make the most of your trip and see the Places of Interest in the Moyer Center.

United States District Court Southern District of Ohio (Eastern Division)

Federal criminal and civil cases in the Columbus area begin in this court. As with other federal buildings, this facility requires guests to show a photo ID upon arrival. Click the above link for the court's directions to the courthouse.
