Accidents happen. Usually it’s no one’s fault, and we hope that no one gets hurt. Unfortunately, however, there are times when someone’s careless actions result in someone else or some property being injured. Oregon has a series of laws that cover the concept of “negligence:” the legal system’s attempt to determine fault and make sure injured parties are adequately compensated. Beaver State statutes cover the legal definition and terms of negligence and determine the time period in which a lawsuit must be filed after an accident or injury occurs.
