Balrina Ahluwalia, Esq., Contributing Author

A licensed Illinois attorney, Balrina earned her J.D. from the University of Notre Dame Law School and her B.A. in Philosophy from Loyola University in Chicago. For over a decade, she filled in-house legal and compliance roles in the heavily regulated higher education and nonprofit sectors in Ohio, Texas, and Illinois. She also served on the Advisory Committee for the Journal of College and University Law and as a Capstone Advisor for graduate students.

Since then, Balrina has had the opportunity to focus primarily on writing. Before joining the FindLaw team, she spent two years with an education company authoring content for law schools and students. There, she deconstructed legal concepts and distilled salient case law to present both in a simplified and accessible format. A strong believer that the law should empower and not intimidate, Balrina is delighted to contribute to FindLaw’s mission.

Now in Chicago with her two- and four-legged family, Balrina volunteers with a local legal clinic and grades essays for students preparing for the bar exam.
