J.Lo Honeymoon 'Sex Tape' Blocked by Restraining Order
Wish you could take a look at a J. Lo sex tape? Well, don't hold your breath. Lopez has scored a court ruling against Ojani Noa, her ex-husband, barring him and his manager Ed Meyer from making money off of footage of Lopez.
Noa and his current girlfriend, Claudia Vasquez, had been planning on putting together a comedic biopic about Noa and his life, reports E! Online.
Vasquez, who owns the tape after buying it off her boyfriend, has been blocked from distributing it, according to celebrity gossip source TMZ. She can't sell it without J. Lo's okay, according to a judge.
On May 26th, a judge ruled that Noa and his manager were forbidden from making a profit of Lopez's naked footage, which they were thinking of including in Noa's film, according to E! Online. However, Lopez is not allowed to "interfere" with Vasquez's right to earn a living.
Lopez's lawyers argued that if Vasquez went ahead with the film, including the raunchy footage, she would be "aiding, abetting, assisting or acting in concert with Noa and Meyer," reports E! Online. As a result, she should be held to the same permanent injunction that was slapped on Noa and Meyer, regardless of the court's judgment that Lopez cannot "interfere" with Vasquez's right to earn a living.
Vasquez's attorneys claim that the footage is not a "sex tape" but it does include scenes of a naked J. Lo.
Despite the court ruling against them, Meyer and Noa are still seeking the release of the film, especially since various porn sites have offered them "millions" if they release the footage to them, reports E! Online.
In most sex tape cases, celebrities will tend to allege that the sex tape is an invasion of privacy, and that it illegally misappropriates their commercial image. And, even if Vasquez is telling the truth about no sex scenes, the fact that it contains nude images of the star might already make it an invasion of privacy for them to publish and distribute the footage and make money off of it.
At least for now, J. Lo's sex tape will not be made public. Ojani Noa and Claudia Vasquez might have to start exploring other business ventures soon.
