Lorenzo Lamas' Ex Shauna Sand Beats Husband No. 2, Custody Battle Ensues

Marginal reality star Shauna Sand has been arrested for domestic violence after reports that she attacked and hit her husband, Laurent Homburger. Sand is famous for being an ex-Playboy pin-up as well as the ex-wife of Lorenzo Lamas.

Sand, 39, was charged with felony domestic violence after police were called to the couple's home. The responding officers noticed marks on her husband, reports the Toronto Sun. Homburger was also arrested on a domestic violence charge.

Lorenzo Lamas is now seeking an emergency temporary order for full physical custody of his 3 children with Sand, according to celebrity gossip site TMZ.

Reportedly, the couple was fighting because Sand had told Homburger that she wanted a divorce. Sand then locked herself into her bedroom, but Homburger kicked the door down - and Sand then pepper sprayed his face.

Female perpetrators of domestic violence are actually relatively common. While many domestic violence survivors have difficult coming forward, male victims of domestic violence often have an even more difficult time coming forward because of the social stigma that is unfortunately attached.

As for Shauna Sand's three children, physical custody may be awarded to Lamas if the court finds that Sand's home is no longer an appropriate or safe place for the children. If a judge awards Lorenzo Lamas with sole physical custody of the children, then the children will have to move in with their father.

Part of what the court will consider in its custody decision is the environment of the home. Lamas has indicated that he is worried about the home environment and safety of his children, and does not wish his children to live with Sand unless she and her husband receive anger management treatment, reports 411mania. If her anger management issues are real, then Lamas likely has a strong case to keep the kids.

Lorenzo Lamas recently wed his fifth wife - Shawna Lamas. This is not to be confused with Shauna Sand Lamas, who has kept her husband's last name.
