Block on Trump's Asylum Ban Upheld by Supreme Court
Playboy Enterprises has reportedly settled a lawsuit with a model who got whacked in the behind with a golf club during a California event in 2014 for an undisclosed amount, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. Elizabeth Dickson sued Playboy and radio host Kevin Klein for assault and battery, demanding more than $500,000.
Dickson sued last year, arguing that she did not consent to being hit at the Playboy Golf Finals. She did, however, agree to let the radio DJ tee up the ball on her behind. Klein missed the ball and hit Dickson instead, leaving a serious welt and, she claims, causing tens of thousands in medical damages.
The incident was captured on film. Dickson reportedly responded with some humor when Klein initially hit her, according to The Daily Mail. But her injury lawsuit claims that she continued to feel numbness and tingling in her behind long after the golf even ended.
Klein is a co-host of the Playboy Morning Show. Dickson was invited to the Playboy Golf Finals. She complied with a request early in the day to lie "flat on her stomach with her buttocks partially exposed for a photograph" with Klein, the suit alleges.
The model apparently did not know in advance that Klein would actually swing the golf club. She believed they were just posing for a photo. "A golf tee was then placed between the cheeks of her buttocks and a golf ball was balanced on top of the tee," according to the suit.
But Klein did swing the club, and he missed ... twice. The first time he missed altogether and no one got hurt. The second time Dickson is "writhing in agony as another woman tells her she has a welt on her behind.
Terms of the settlement were not disclosed. Dickson's attorney reportedly appeared in court early this week and told a judge that a resolution has been reached. An email to a Playboy spokeswoman seeking comment reportedly wasn't immediately returned.
