Shia LaBeouf Gets Restraining Order Against Female Trespasser
Actor Shia LaBeouf has been in and out of court a lot lately, but this time it was to get a restraining order against someone else who was allegedly behaving badly.
Graciela Nahle, 31, was ordered to stay 100 yards away from the "Transformers" star, although it's unclear if she'll choose to obey it. According to TMZ, Nahle thinks that LaBeouf is "Albert Einstein" and wants to "blow up the world," so her judgment might be a bit off-kilter.
What else should LaBeouf fans know about the restraining order?
Nahle Arrested Once Before
For those who might be worried about their own fanaticism provoking a restraining order, take heart: This wasn't Nahle's first time bothering LaBeouf.
Back in August, Nahle was arrested for trespassing around the "Disturbia" star's home, and she was in and out of jail in four days. According to TMZ, law enforcement noted that she had been there at least twice before "skulking around" and had been ordered to stay away from LaBeouf.
After putting up with Nahle showing up at his home several times and screaming random threats like "I am going to blow up your house," LaBeouf was able to get a restraining order against Nahle. There's no exact formula for the kind of proof you need to get a restraining order against someone, but incidents of stalking and violent threats can certainly be used as evidence that protection is needed.
It's possible that Nahle had a temporary restraining order stemming from her August arrest, but it didn't seem to stop her from showing up at LaBeouf's house to eat watermelon and shout threatening gibberish. LaBeouf may be counting on Nahle to violate this new restraining order, which may mean more serious criminal consequences. Nahle will be much less likely to contact the "Even Stevens" star if she's in jail.
Peace, Quiet, and Treatment
LaBeouf doesn't need any more legal distractions lately; he just needs to stay in rehab to wrap up his criminal case. In case you missed it, the "Holes" actor was arrested in June for causing a scene (offstage) at a Broadway performance of "Cabaret." Last week, LaBeouf pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct as part of a plea deal that potentially involves no jail time or probation.
The Associated Press reports that LaBeouf's case will be dismissed if he completes three months of rehab and stays "out of trouble" for six months.
