Situation' Sued: Ex-Managers Sue 'Jersey Shore' Star for $1M

By Cynthia Hsu, Esq. on July 11, 2011 | Last updated on March 21, 2019

"The Situation" has gotten himself into a situation. Sued by his ex managers for $1 million, the new "The Situation" lawsuit claims that the Jersey Shore star wrongfully fired them.

The Situation, also known as Mike Sorrentino, was represented by Gotham NYC Entertainment, reports The Star-Ledger.

Gotham had represented the Situation since December 2009, but their manager/agent relationship ended in May of this year due to "lack of performance," The Star-Ledger reports.

Supposedly, what the Situation did - fire his mangers for not doing anything - was against his contract with Gotham.

The Situation was supposed to give Gotham 30 days notice and a chance to correct any of the problems before he could fire them, reports the Hollywood Gossip. And, Gotham says that it got neither.

Gotham also claims that it was the one who nurtured the Situation's bright reality TV star, turning him from a relative nobody to an "international celebrity," the Hollywood Gossip reports.

Putting aside the debate about whether or not the Situation is actually an "international celebrity," the fact is that the company may have a relatively strong case.

If the contract with Gotham explicitly said that the Situation had to give them 30 days notice to correct any errors before they could be fired, then the Situation is in a bind if he agreed to the contract.

Breaking the 30-day notice and chance to correct clause in the contract may give Gotham enough to sue the reality TV star and win on damages arising from the breach.

Though, whether or not the Situation lawsuit will result in a big payday for Gotham is unclear. And, maybe it's not the best time for the Situation to be sued - reports are that he recently walked off the set of Jersey Shore.
