2 Year Old Has World's First, Best Lawyer-Themed Birthday Party
Kids are weird. They eat dirt, obsess over dinosaurs, and think there are monsters under the bed. But many kids are weird in the most adorable ways. Take Grayson Dobra, for instance. This Louisiana tot decided to celebrate his second birthday with a personal injury lawyer-themed party.
Yep, young Grayson is obsessed with ambulance chasers -- one ambulance chaser in particular: New Orleans personal injury lawyer Morris Bart, whose commercials have been airing on Louisiana T.V. for the past 35 years.
An Early Obsession
Bart's commercials, beguiling as they are to two year olds, could generally be described as "classic" lawyer T.V. ads. Take his "When" commercial, where a series of pedestrians, drivers, and bicyclists declare, "If I got hit by that car, I would have called Morris Bart!" (Hopefully after seeking medical attention.)
Bart's ads have worked, too, carrying Bart through almost four decades of legal practice and into the heart of at least one little boy.
Grayson's fixation with Bart began at an even earlier age. His mother described the power Bart held over Grayson to The Acadiana Advocate:
Before he could walk or talk, every time the Morris Bart commercial would come on, he was just fixated. You couldn't talk to him. You couldn't do anything with him. He would just sit and stare at the TV... He's been that way ever since, and when he started talking he would say, 'One call' or 'Bart, Bart, Bart, Morris Bart, Morris Bart.' They were not his first words, but they were a close second and third.
Not Your Typical Birthday Party
So what exactly goes into a personal injury attorney-themed party? For Grayson, it included plenty of Bart commercials, available straight from YouTube. Then there was a birthday cake with Bart's photo printed on it, an autographed Bart photo, and a much-too-big-for-a-two-year-old Morris Bart t-shirt. Though Bart couldn't make it in person, a cardboard Morris Bart bust was present in his stead.
After such a unique second birthday, we wonder what Grayson will go with for his third year. That's a long way off, however, and Grayson doesn't show any signs that his love for Bart is waning. According to his mom, Grayson still sleeps with two Bart photos on his nightstand, which he makes sure to kiss goodnight before bed.
That's just sweet enough to melt our cruel, cold lawyer hearts.
