Where are you traveling to this summer?

By car, by train, by bus, and by plane, many of us will go on the open road to visit far away friends and families or see new places. So, here is a round-up of our best travel posts to help protect your rights during your summer wanderings:

Air Travel

Airplane travel can be stressful, but it doesn't have to be.

• 5 Things Holiday Air Travelers Should Know -- Sometimes, it can feel like you're at the mercy of the airline's ineptitude and capricious whims. But, did you know that you have rights when flights are delayed, your baggage is lost, or you're bumped from your flight?
• Can You Bring Alcohol on a Plane? -- Were you hoping to bring a little pick-me-up (a.k.a alcohol) with you on the plane? Well, you're in luck. As long as the liquid is in the proper sized bottle, you can bring it with you in your carry-on luggage. Once you're on the airplane, you can take your alcohol bottles out and imagine that you're drinking it. According to federal law, you can only drink alcohol served to you from the in-flight drink cart.
• Is It Legal for Kids to Fly Alone? -- Does grandma in Tennessee want to see your kid for the summer, but you don't have time to take him? Let your kid fly alone! There is not legal age restriction on kids flying along. However, some airline may charge an extra fee for minors traveling alone.

Did you know that you can go to Cuba now? Or, did you know that your gun may not be legal when you bring it into another state?

• U.S. Eases Rules on Travel to Cuba: What You Need to Know -- Have you always dreamed of going to Cuba? Now, you may be able to for family visits, official government business, journalistic activities, or humanitarian projects. You can even bring back some Cuban cigars.
• Have Gun, Will Travel? 3 Legal Concerns -- The Second Amendment may have given you the right to bear arms, but be careful where you go with your guns. Whether you're traveling by airplane, train, or car, make sure you have the proper permits to transport the weapons. And, unless you're an undercover government agent, leave your gun in your checked luggage!
• Senator Wants 'Cruise Ship Passenger Bill of Rights' -- Are you going on a cruise? Cruises have a basic duty to take reasonable care of you. One senator wants to expand your rights by creating a Cruise Ship Passenger Bill of Rights. However, the bill of rights would have to be voluntarily adopted by individual cruise lines.
