Unhappy with VIP Room Service, Man Strips Cash Back from Stripper
A Florida strip club patron apparently felt entitled to a refund after his VIP encounter with a stripper didn't lead to the happy ending he was hoping for, sheriff's deputies said.
Deputies in Manatee County, Fla., arrested Trevor Jessup, 21, after an exotic dancer allegedly caught him stealing cash out of her purse, the Sarasota Herald-Tribune reports.
Jessup allegedly said "he paid for a sexual favor and was not pleased with the performance," according to a deputy's report.
The alleged stripper theft took place at a club in Palmetto, Fla., called Pandora's Box. The club features a "VIP room" where patrons can get a private dance for an additional charge.
Trevor Jessup and a stripper headed into a VIP room for a "consensual encounter," the sheriff's arrest report states, according to the South Florida Sun Sentinel. But Jessup apparently wasn't satisfied.
After the stripper's private performance, she allegedly saw Jessup reach into her purse and grab a handful of cash. The stripper called for help, and a bouncer detained Jessup until police arrived.
Jessup told deputies he thought he'd paid for an undisclosed sexual favor, which apparently did not end the way he thought it would. That's why he took back the $55 in cash, which the stripper may have believed was a tip, Jessup explained.
Trevor Jessup faces a charge of petit theft for stealing money back from a stripper. Because Jessup's alleged theft was only worth $55, that's a second-degree misdemeanor in Florida, punishable by up to 60 days in jail and a $500 fine.
