Maybe you didn't notice, but robots are
taking over changing the legal profession. It's not just research, discovery, and smart contracts, robot lawyers are also doing internet advertising.
Chat bot lawyers arrived a few years ago, and after beating about 375,000 parking ticket cases they expanded into 1,000 other legal areas.
But that was a text-bot that addressed legal questions. This year's bots are focused on marketing, and they a face. Quriobot looks like a cross between R2D2 and BB8, i.e. cuter than most lawyers.
Mashable reports that Quriobot can greet new visitors to your website, answer their questions, and help them find their way around a website.
If you've never spoken to a chat bot, it's not just a dog-and-pony show. They are programs that interact with you, using customized dialogues.
Quriobot, for example, can be programmed to help fill out forms and get feedback from website visitors. The robot cost about $59, but it's cheaper than a lawyer or an actor.
Not bad for a 24/7 website receptionist in the 21st Century.
