How to Write a Blog Post in Less Than 60 Minutes

By William Vogeler, Esq. | Last updated on

If writing a blog post were easy, everyone would do it.

But if we're being honest, everybody does do it nowadays because it is easier than driving a car. If you can Facebook, you can post. Getting people to read your writing, that's another story.

This blog post is about how to write a post in less than an hour. Ladies and gentlemen, start your engines.

Ready

The key to writing fast is to know what you are going to write before you start. It's one of those things you can actually do while you're driving.

Your subject may come to mind any time. You don't have to mentally compose sentences, but you should be able to think through your composition.

Set

Let's talk about direction in this driving analogy. It's about taking a course that others can follow.

If you are all over the place, readers are going to get lost -- and so will you. Do yourself a favor and frame your story with some signs: a good headline, bullet points, or subheads.

Go!

Most races are won or lost at the starting line. Start with a flash -- something that will grab the readers' attention.

Simple words. Short sentences. If you can, give everybody a thrill and throw in a graphic.

When you reach the end -- 60 minutes not miles -- hit spell check and move on. Real race car drivers don't look back.
